Issues 01:11
Issues They come in a box With a safety lock On hold Are you Prepared for a test Let’s see what you got In your nest Issues Are sly as a fox Wearing sneakers and socks As they take of the locks Are you Prepared for a fight When they visit your bedroom at night Hunt you in your sleep and make you think Issues About your old man ’bout the future ahead Playing bass in a band Are you Ready to fall There aint no rails I am a wall Issues About playing hard Searching for heat But you find a guitar Are you Sane after all Issues a general call

Denial 02:58
I keep my issues close, babe I keep them in my heart Some things I can’t recall, hey But I don’t have to think that long Because you think it’s better to look on the bright side So I wrote down some lies for you That’s just what I do I won’t be gone for long, babe I’ll be home by dawn After all I love it I’m safe home in your stall But you think it’s better to look on the bright side So I wrote down some lies for you That’s just what I do People always tell me I talk way to much But I just can’t control itr I simply love to stay in touch But you think it’s better to look on the bright side So I wrote down my lies for you That’s just what I do But you just got out of that naïve denial I’m surprisingly proud of you I keep my issues way to close

Period 02:54
Staying here for a while I messed up Now I’m on my period My baby is texting, Asks me when I will come home My consciousness calls me from Stockholm It says not to worry I shouldn’t believe it, but I’ve been pretending for long My friends should put a price on my head For treating my loved one so bad Being selfishly mad I, should know what’s right The water is cold but I dive in despite my fever I’d like to wash all of the traces of you of my skin Takes all of me, all of me God damn the wine makes it clearer I borrow perfume from my mom ‘cause it makes me feel safe My friends should put a price on my head For treating my loved one so bad Being selfishly mad I, should know what’s right Birds outside are singing a song about lies I choose not to listen this time I’m closing my door for a while People are strange Suppose that I like them that way Because I’m falling for all of the fools who are falling for me

That Rain 03:45
Sun, don’t shine on me yet It’s late, but I’m still in my bed Sun, can’t keep up with you Let me stay, stay in this mood Where nothing has started No goals to achieve Nothing but dreams to be dreamed Hold me close While I blame it on the light on the wall Keep me safe I could kill for some more of that rain Alright, admit it There’s no use in shining for good But don’t misunderstand me I’m doing just fine I’ll see you when clouds hit the sky (Hold me for a while) Hold me close While I blame it on the light on the wall Keep me safe I could kill for some more of that rain Out in the sun we all look so pale I need that rain to hide from this day Sun, don’t shine on me yet It’s late but I’m still in my bed Don’t want this morning to end It’s late but I’m still in my bed

about

There is something about Wilma Nea’s music which feels so natural, yet hauntingly original. On 'Issues' she takes her clever vocal melodies and playful production to its peak and sets the listener up for an experience that seemingly only Wilma Nea can offer.

This is her first work made almost entirely by herself. “I’ve given myself the space to fail and try different ways of working. The EP is full of homemade solutions and I love that”, she explains further about the process. The result is a sincere and playful record that places Wilma Nea’s sound somewhere in the middle between Clairo and Fiona Apple.

Wilma’s songwriting is fueled by her ability to both judge her own actions and listen closely to her purest feelings. “I’m almost introspective to a fault, but that was also what inspired me to write these lyrics for the EP” she says.
